Happy Ganesh Chaturthi
Today people across India will celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha. He is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is known as the remover of all obstacles.
During this auspicious day, families conduct prayers and sing hymns. Non vegetarian food and alcohol are banned and feasts such as sweet modak, an indian sweet dumpling made with rice flour, coconut and jaggery, are prepared.
